The Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew presents its Quarterly Speaker Series, which provides speakers on current social issues. St. Matthew’s first Speaker Series presentation for 2017 was January 18 from 6:30-8pm and focused on transgender issues with a presentation by the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (SAGA). Since its founding in 1998, SAGA has sought to bring about a change in attitudes and perceptions of, as well as by, transgender people. This presentation, Transgender 101, will address the questions: What defines someone’s gender? What does it mean to be transgender? And much more.
